Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters enormously to us. This policy explains what personal information Lottie Letters collects, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Lottie Letters is a sole trader business operated by Charlotte Galvin, registered in Western Australia. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at hello@lottleletters.com

What information we collect

When you subscribe or contact us, we may collect:

  1. Your name and postal/mailing address (so we can send your letter)

  2. Your email address (for order confirmations, subscription updates, and our newsletter 'The Nook' if you opt in)

  3. Payment information (this is handled securely by Stripe and is never stored by us directly)

  4. Any information you voluntarily share when you contact us by email

We only ever collect what we genuinely need. We don't collect sensitive personal information, and we don't collect information from children under 16.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  1. Process and fulfil your subscription (your mailing address is essential for this)

  2. Communicate with you about your subscription, including delivery updates and any issues

  3. Send 'The Nook' newsletter, if you've opted in

  4. Improve how Lottie Letters works

We will never use your information for any purpose other than those listed above without your explicit consent.

Who we share your information with

We share your information only where absolutely necessary:

  1. Stripe — our payment processor, for secure billing

  2. Post Office — your postal/mailing address is used to send your letter

  3. Squarespace — our website and subscription platform

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

International subscribers

If you're based outside Australia, your information may be processed and stored on servers located in other countries (including the United States, where Squarespace and Stripe operate). These providers are bound by strict data protection standards. By subscribing, you consent to this transfer. If you are based in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Please contact us at hello@lottleletters.com to exercise any of these rights.

How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as your subscription is active, and for up to two years afterwards for record-keeping and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing hello@lottleletters.com — we'll action this within 30 days.

How we keep your data safe

Your data is stored securely within Squarespace and Stripe's encrypted platforms. We use a password-protected Google account for subscriber management and never store payment card details ourselves. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to help it function properly and to understand how visitors use the site. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. We don't use cookies for advertising purposes.
